Undefeated Welterweight Chris Algieri defeated Jose Guzman in a 6 round fight on Saturday night. Algieri dropped Guzman twice in the third round with vicious body shots. Chris' record improves to (8-0, 4 KO’s)
Judges scores: (60-52), (59-53), (59-53) all for Algieri.
Matt DeLorenzo "DeLo" wins a unanimous decision in his second MMA bout. Matt improves to 2-0

Friday Sept 11, 2009: Tropicana Hotel/Casino, Atlantic City
All three of the Bellmore Kickboxing/MMA fighters won Friday Night at the Tropicana in Atlantic City.
 
Ryan LaFlare had complete control from the opening bell, keeping his opponent,
Jose Sulsona on the ground and up against the cage for almost the entire round. Ryan was raining punches to the body and head from side control and mount for most of the fight. Jose Sulsona tapped at 2:18 of round two from an arm bar. Congratulations Ryan!
 
Chris Schlesinger took on Nabih Barakat from Matt Serra's school. Chris easily won the first two rounds, correctly bringing the fight to the ground. Chris kept a great a position and had some great takedowns in both rounds 1 and 2. In round three, Chris took a vicious elbow across the jaw, was hurt, but was able to recover and regain control of round 3, as well. All three judges scored the fight 30-27. Chris winner by unanimous decision! Congratulations Chris!
 
Gian Villante fought tough, game opponent, Rob Wince. Wince is the first fighter, to date, that has gone into the second round with Gian. In round one, Gian landed some great leg kicks, some hard body shots, and multiple takedowns. Gian almost finished Wince with a rear naked choke, but his opponent having a good ground defense was able to get out of the round. Round one, Villante. In round two, Wince, sensing that Gian might be a little tired, came out swinging. Wince landed a few hard shots on Gian, but to no effect. Gian then threw a rear leg roundhouse toWince's head, dropping him. The referee immediately called a halt to the bout. Gian Villante winner by TKO, Round 2! Congratulations Gian!

Friday Sept 18, 2009: Yonkers PAL, NY
It didn't take Terrence Hill very long to dismantle his opponent in this Muay Thai match at the Capitale. Terrence dropped his opponent at the start of the round with an inside leg kick. As soon as his opponent rose to his feet, Hill began working on his leg . Hill threw two low kicks, followed by a kick to the head. The head kick put his opponent down.

Undefeated Mike Benoit defeated Alex Bruzzese in their 3 round MMA match at TRUMP Marina, Atlantic City. Mike improves to 3-0. He is set to fight for title in November.

WKA World Champion Bobby Campbell took on IKF World Champion Heath "The Heater" Fonnest, in Fonnest's home town of Wisconsin. Bobby madequick work of the fancy kicking Fonnest, dropping him the first round with a liver shot. Fonnest tried to use his legs to stay away, but Campbell kept closing the distance and winning the battle on the inside. Fonnest could not continue after the 6th. Campbell winner by TKO, and new IKF World Champion! May 1st, 2009
Undefeated Junior Welterweight Chris Algieri takes it to 9-0, 5 KOs
when rugged Edward Valdez (141 lbs.) failed to answer the bell for the
4th round. Valdez came out guns blazing in rounds one and two but
Algieri was patient using tight defense and a busy left jab. Algieri
started to become loose in round 3, letting off combinations while
using the whole ring to his 5 inch height advantage. Near the end of
the round, Algieri opened up with a combination to the head and body
that was punctuated by a left hook to the liver. Valdez decided to
stay on his stool in between round leading to a 3rd round TKO for
Algieri (141 1/4 lbs.)
 Brad Lemley was able to use his long reach and fast hands to keep Tajada at bay. Tajada, an extremley tough opponent, came out throwing multiple spinning kicks and jumping back kicks. Lemley was able to answer Tajada's kicks with powerful roundhouses of his own, landing hard kicks to Tajada's body and head. Rounds 1 & 2, for Lemley. In Round 3, Tajada was able to close the gap and land power punches on the inside, making the third round very close to call. Winner, Brad Lemley of the Super Middleweight Title by unanimous decision over Christian Tajada.

Mike Benoit is the new Asylum Fight League Welterweight MMA Champion! Mike Benoit, in this MMA title fight knocked out Tiger Shulman fighter Doug Miller with a beautiful right hand left hook counter.
The fight began on it's feet with both fighters effectivley striking. Mike after landing and taking some shots, took the fight to the ground. He was reversed by Miller, but quickly managed to escape to his feet. Both fighters squared off again, with Miller throwing a low kick, which Mike checked and immediately countered with a picture perfect right- hand left- hook combo. Miller could not continue. Winner by KO, 1:49 of round 1. Congratulations Mike!

Gian Villante knocks out Brazillian Marcelo Pereira in the final seconds of round one. Villante, after dominating both on the ground and the stand up, lands a straight right hand to Pereira's jaw, ending the bout.

Ryan Laflare, at the start of the fight, slipped under a big overhand right by Marc Berrocal, taking him to the ground. Here, Laflare gained great position and used his ground and pound skills. After taking too many shots, the referee jumped in to stop the fight.

Bobby "The Jackhammer" Campbell, the current WKA Champion of the World, and the current IKF Champion of the World took on English Champion Shawn "Boom Boom" Burton. On the the line was Campbell's WKA World Title Belt and the vacant PKF World Title Belt.

Burton, who has an impressive record of 34-7, with 19 wins coming by way of KO, flew in from England on Thursday night determined to take the two World Title Belts back to Britain.
Round one saw Burton throwing hard round kicks to Campbell's body. Campbell using his superior skills on the inside was able to nullify the majority of Burton's kicks. Round two saw more of the same with Campbell gaining an edge with his body attack. Round three Campbell was able to unleash vicious body shots to Burton's liver. Burton goes down. He's up at 8. Campbell immediately attacks Burton's body with a spinning back kick, followed by another hook to the body. Burton goes down again. The bell rings, and fighters return to their stools. Round four, Campbell attacks the head and body, throwing both hands and kicks with great power, dropping Burton again. Burton, being the tough fighter that he is, shows heart and gets to his feet. Campbell gets Burton in corner and throws a five punch combination to the body and head. Burton slumps to the canvas, and referee waves off the fight. Winner, Bobby Campbell, and now THREE TIME WORLD CHAMPION!
    In another pro bout, Brad Lemley took on journeyman Keith Nesbitt for the vacant PKF New York State title. Lemley dropped Nesbitt with an overhand right early in round one. Nesbitt, rose to his feet and mounted an attack of his own, backing Lemley up. Lemley then fired back with a chilling uppercut- left hook-right hand combo knocking Nesbitt out cold.Winner Brad Lemley, new PKF New York State Champion!
